So wait… What??? You want me to do a 3 hour ride the day before a race? Errr, thanks coach, much appreciated. GSB race review, race was first weekend in June. Lo siento, little tardy.

The race is a very early start time, like real early, 6:45am in the Bay. The conditions, which were of no fault to the race director, were choppy. The wind definitely was apparent in the morning which made the swim a little bit more difficult then needed. The first wave went off with little warning and caught most off guard, including myself, after scrambling to find my position off to the side, we were off. I really think that weak swimmers could run this entire swim course, because it is so shallow, and it seemed like some were trying. continue reading…

For some reason I have drafts saved that review all my races this year, but for some reason have just not published them. Every race I set goals based upon prior performances and I will discuss what my goals were and how I planned to attain them. In doing so I will highlight a few of the aspects of the race, some good and others not so much.

After my first two Olympic races, Harriman and RJA I had achieved personal best but both times left feeling unsatisfied, in my first effort a timely flat to my inner and outer tube left me with a 2:30 bike split. Similarly a nutrition error and bike pacing error left me struggling through the run in Montauk. I new where I had problems in the past and I was to make this final Oly my best. continue reading…

As the 2010 season gets under way I look back to the training schedule which has changed shape a handful of times. Committing the year to complete an Ironman takes sacrifice and persistence. Where I am now with my fitness? I believe I will be ready August 29.

Saturday, March 20, Prospect park Duathlon. 3.1 mile run,14 mile bike and another 3.1 on the Asics. With transitions included and I have not scene the transition area I predict 1:30.

The day before the race consisted of a fun packed day at Trump with minimal stress. I drove my car into park slope the Friday before so I will not have to commute as far race morning. continue reading…
